Welcome to Topsham

Come for a day, a week … or a lifetime

Topsham is a beautiful Devon estuary town with a rich maritime and architectural history, sophisticated shopping and a charming, high quality food and drink culture.

It’s a regular front runner in league tables of great UK locations (we’re in the 2022 Muddy Stilettos Best Places To Live, for example) but perhaps what’s best of all is the wonderful sense of community amongst those who live and work here.

Topsham is fiercely independent yet hugely welcoming. There are countless local groups and associations, each passionate about the place – and none moreso than Love Topsham, a not-for-profit Community Interest Company run by volunteers.

Here’s our Mission Statement: Love Topsham operates alongside residents, businesses and local groups to promote and enhance Topsham as a destination, a home town and a workplace.

We run this website for the town, send out regular newsletters, and are active throughout the year – including being the people behind Topsham’s spectacular spring and summer hanging baskets, and sparkling Christmas lights. We would love you to become involved with us – you can find out more here.

Love Topsham’s third JOIN THE CLUB event takes place throughout Topsham on Sunday April 28.
Over 25 clubs, organisations and groups will have stalls in Matthews Hall or taster sessions across town.
If you’re new to Topsham or have more time to spare, this is your chance to get involved!
If you run one of our groups, this is your chance to recruit volunteers and members!
And whoever you are, being in a club means you meet new friends and help our community.

runs between 11am and 3pm
on Sunday April 28

with refreshments available from the lovely people at Matthews Hall Cafe.

Love Topsham is a completely volunteer run group. If you can spare any time at all to help, as a one-off or on an ongoing basis, we’d love to hear from you. We couldn’t do it without you.

We are looking for Hanging basket helpers | Buskers | Christmas activity helpers | Poster distribution | Social media | Marketing and Public Relations | IT support | Project management | Business Liaison | Membership organising… the list goes on.

It is a great way of meeting people and connecting with groups in the town.
