Welcome to Topsham – we love it!
This is a beautiful Devon estuary town, rich in community activity and independent shops, with a gentle vibe enhanced by our waterside setting and cafe culture.
We’re officially part of Exeter but have a distinctive look and feel which started with our unique maritime and architectural history.
Today, there are over 50 independent businesses in our town.
Some invoke the glories of the High Street, like our charming second hand bookshop and clock repair workshop; others are modern, like the former fire station that is now a craft ale micro-brewery and bar, or our organic vegan skincare shop. And don’t forget our Saturday market, which has become a food and craft must-visit.
We are brimful of community groups too.
Whether it’s a book club or a town museum, a repair cafe or a fine arts society, you will find a home for the enthusiasm you already have, and for the passion you may well develop after you move here.
And of course one of those community groups is Love Topsham! We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company run by volunteers.
Our activities include: organising spring and summer flowers and bunting throughout the town, holding meet-ups for new residents, campaigns to promote local shopping, and staging the Christmas celebrations – we ‘do the lights’, organise a festive market and arrange a much-loved Kids’ Trail through Topsham.
Oh – and year-round we operate this website and town calendar too.
We would love you to become involved with us – you can find out more here – while our mission statement is: Love Topsham operates alongside residents, businesses and local groups to promote and enhance Topsham as a destination, a home town and a workplace.
So whether you’re a resident, business, group or visitor – welcome!
The Love Topsham Team
