Topsham has become famous not just as a beautiful Devon estuary town but also as a destination for so many. It’s perfect for lovers of the tranquil estuary, for those delving into its maritime history, and people enjoying its sophisticated food and drink culture.
We all know Topsham is wonderful at the height of summer but right now, in the chillier months, it moves effortlessly from being a waterside favourite to a warm and inviting place to spend evenings in old pubs and classic restaurants, or to enjoy one of the best selection of independent shops and businesses anywhere in the South West.
Recovering from Covid, the town is at its best for residents and visitors right now.
People can still enjoy the pleasures of a glass of wine watching the boats or wander down Strand and around the Goat Walk to admire period architecture and peerless views.
It’s perhaps no surprise that Topsham was voted the Best Place to Live in the South West 2019 and featured in the Top 10 Places to Live in the South West in 2021. It also continues to have one of the region’s most thriving and independent-minded communities, pulling together and welcoming newcomers.
We contribute to that as Love Topsham, a not-for-profit Community Interest Company run entirely by volunteers and providing a rallying point for the town. With businesses and residents, we make things happen and keep Topsham so incredibly special.
