What’s it to be? A round of bridge or a game of rugby? Singing in a choir or wanting to sail? Perhaps you would prefer to help out at Topsham Museum or strut the stage with Estuary Players?

Topsham has no shortage of groups with open doors for new members. You don’t have to be an expert or an old hand in the town – Topsham benefits from people relocating to the area all the time and joining a group is a perfect way to make new friends and become part of the community.

And if you are running a local club, society, community group or charity we haven’t mentioned here, please let us know by emailing us on lovetopsham@gmail.com. We want this part of our website to be a snapshot of the busy, on-the-go, active and mutually supportive place called Topsham!

There are so many groups in Topsham you’ll be spoilt for choice. We hope this inspires you to find a new hobby or pursue a favourite activity.

3 simple ways you can support Love Topsham

For a regular donation of just £4 per month (about the cost of a cup of coffee), you can really help Love Topsham’s work in the town. From flower barrels to picnic benches, summer music to Christmas lights, plus running the town calendar, producing a monthly newsletter and supporting our many independent traders, we rely on your donations to continue our work to keep Topsham vibrant and attractive for everyone.

To support us, please set up a monthly standing order for a minimum of £4 per month to:

If you are a local trader (or a holiday let with up to four properties), you can support Love Topsham and its work for a minimum of £12 per month; for microbusinesses (traders without a shop front) the minimum charge is £8 per month. For this you will get:

  • Your own page on the Love Topsham website and/or a link to your website or Facebook page;
  • Help to create a short social media post on our growing social media platform;
  • A listing in our online Business Directory or Accommodation page, linked to by organisations such as Visit Exeter;
  • Promotion as a Featured Businesses on our social media and in our monthly newsletter;
  • Meet-ups with other Love Topsham Business Supporters.

Your support means we are able to promote the town and community by:

  • Putting Topsham on the map with publicity, advertising, social media work and one-off events;
  • Driving footfall for local shops through street musicians and events such as the Big Switch-on at Christmas;
  • Making Topsham a better place with our flower barrels, picnic benches, Christmas trees and Christmas lights;
  • Sending out monthly newsletters to over 1400 recipients (and rising!);
  • Helping under-the-radar businesses through social media promotion and events;
  • Working with local groups to promote what’s happening in the town.

Once you have done this, please send your business name, contact details and any social media links to lovetopsham@gmail.com and we’ll do the rest!

This year, all individual donations will go to our Topsham Twinkle fund, to replace some of our Christmas lights that no longer twinkle as they should.

We kindly request that individual donations are for a minimum of £5, otherwise a large proportion of the donation will be used up in bank charges rather than the Twinkle fund!
