Kiln

We’re Ryan and Kate, a husband-and-wife team bringing our shared dream to life with Kiln Topsham. Kiln is a pottery studio, café and deli all under one roof, a space where making and sharing come together naturally.

Kate is the potter behind the wheel. Her work is rooted in thoughtful, functional design pieces made to be used, loved and lived with every day. At Kiln, you’ll find her pottery in the shop, alongside opportunities to commission bespoke pieces. The studio will also host bookable pottery sessions, giving you the chance to get hands-on with clay, whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to develop your skills. It’s important to us that Kiln is not just a place to buy handmade ceramics, but a place to experience the joy of making them.

Ryan is the chef, bringing his passion for seasonal, ingredient-led food to the café and deli. Expect excellent coffee, generous focaccia sandwiches, and fresh, vibrant salads made with the best produce we can find. Simple food, done well, served in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

Together, we’re combining our crafts to create something that feels warm, creative and community-focused, somewhere you can meet friends, grab a coffee, pick up lunch, or spend an afternoon at the wheel.

Alongside the café, Ryan has launched Kiln Catering, offering thoughtful, seasonal food for corporate events, meetings, weddings and everything in between.

Kiln will be a place to gather, eat and make — and we hope it becomes a space you’ll feel at home in.
