If you are looking for a warm welcome, gentle guidance, a wealth of different materials and techniques and time spent with like- minded people, then SMOCK is here for you whatever your age and stage. Children’s classes for ages 5-16 are every Saturday, 11-12 and 12.30-1.30. Adult painting and drawing classes are Monday and Wednesday evenings. For the very littlest of artists aged 2-5 head to nook playcafe for ‘SMOCKLINGS’ where the emphasis is on make and play. Topsham Art Festival: Vermeer: The Greatest Exhibition and Phil Grabsky on “Working with the world’s greatest galleries and museums”

In the spring of 2023, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam opened its doors to the largest Vermeer exhibition in history. The film of this exhibition will be followed by a talk from Phil Grabsky, the director/producer on ‘Working with the world’s greatest galleries and museums.’ Performances at 3.00 pm and 7.00 pm (doors open at 2.30 and 6.30 respectively).  TICKETS £15 in advance, £18 on the door (under 18s £9) from https://www.topshamcommunityassociation.co.uk/topsham-theatre-live/Matthews Hall Cafe and The Topsham Bookshop.

St Margaret’s Church, Topsham Wednesday Lunchtime Recitals in July, 1.15 – 2 p.m. sponsored by Wilkinson Grant Retiring Collection for St Margaret’s “DreamBig” project 1st July: Ian Curror, formerly Director of Music at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Since retiring, he enjoys playing Devon’s many beautiful organs.

Topsham Art Festival: Plein air paint out around Topsham

Thursday 2 July 10.30-3.00 Plein air paint out around Topsham. Join us at The Dorothy Holman Centre, Ferry Road, from 10.30 am to meet with fellow artists then find locations to paint.  Just come with your preferred art materials.  All welcome.   We will be at the Dorothy Holman Centre until 3.00 pm for tea or coffee, a loo, a lunch venue or a break.  No charge.
