Divertimento String Quartet are presenting a concert on Sunday, October 19th at 4pm in the Methodist Church Fore Street, Topsham.

The Haydn Quartet, known as ‘The Emperor’, has a famous slow movement, with variations on the anthem that Haydn composed to stir up patriotism when there was the threat of invasion.

Frank Bridge’s “An Irish Melody,” is his unique take on the famous Londonderry Air.
Dvořák’s Quartet, ‘The Slavonic‘, is one of his most popular string quartets.

It perfectly balances the structures of the classical style, with a spirit rooted in Bohemian folk music.
